Sarah Cosgrove is a masters student in the Aga Khan Program for Islamic Architecture at MIT. With undergraduate degrees in Art History and Medieval Studies, and an MA in Art History from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, TX, Sarah has long been involved in the Medieval Islamic world with particular interests in architectural history and urbanism in Egypt and greater Syria. Her primary research is on the formation and evolution of Bahri Mamluk Sultanic architecture in Cairo and Damascus with secondary research interests in post-colonialism and orientalism. She is a member of CAA, MESA, HIAA, and AMCA.
